Not too late to get a download for Christmas…the ultimate last minute gift! And at 50% OFF!

Okay we at digitalarttutorials.com are busy working on new tutorials for the new year.  But we have exciting news!  50% off our entire line and new free tutorials!  And a new free tutorial in the spirit of the season…how to paint Santa in lasso and airbrush style! This is a really fun technique that is the digital version of a traditional/analogue airbrush and frisket approach.  I think you’ll find the style has many applications.

Happy holidays!

Captain Wonder Takes (3D) Flight!

Hi, all–

Just wanted to share a quick post with everyone on an interview done by the good folks at CBR and myself.

It’s CAPTAIN WONDER, in all his 3D goodness.

Check it out!  (And go dig up an old pair of those red/blue 3D specs!)

Here’s a quick sample, but the larger ones (and more of them!) can be found following the link.

Apologies from the admin…

Hello, all. We’re experiencing some sort of bugaboo between Facebook and Brian’s blog at DigitalArtTutorials.com that’s resulted in some multiple posts of the 50% sale. Note: Brian did NOT do this! :)

Periodically recurring and no sign of support, so thank you for your understanding. (If you know what’s going on, please email: digitalarttutorials@gmail.com and make my Christmas merry!)

ImagineFX Issue 63 and DeviantArt’s “Muro”

ImagineFX Issue 63 and DeviantArt’s “Muro”

Yesterday we let everyone in on Brian Haberlin’s sneak peek featurette at GeekChicDaily.com for Ulysses2.  If you haven’t checked it out, what are you waiting for?

ifxWe’ve been hearing an awful lot about HTML5 and the “future of the web”…usually in the form of legal wrangling and business threats.  In the interest of “just wanting to do really cool art,” we wanted to let you know about Brian’s ImagineFX workshop on DeviantArt’s new HTML5 painter, MUROIssue 63 is the issue you’ll want to get your hot little mitts on, and here’s exactly what you’ll be looking for at your local bookstore/magazine vendor. Enjoy, and happy creating!

San Diego Here I Come…but why am I already tired?

San Diego Here I Come…but why am I already tired?

Tomorrow is the start of the convention marathon known as San Diego Comic Con.  I’ll be bouncing between:

ARTIST ALLEY: Table BB-24

and

DIGITAL ART TUTORIALS: Booth 5556

We’ll have 4 new tutorials

TIPS & TRICKS (Vol. 4)
ADVANCED DIGITAL INKING (Vol. 1)
PHOTOSHOP CS5 TIPS & TRICKS (Vol. 1)

and
SKETCH TO PAINTING (Vol. 1)

And you can preview them all at the booth.

I also will have CAPTAIN WONDER ASH CANS from Philip Tan and myself.  A new all ages superhero to be published in December by Image comics.

Here’s the cover:

And just to show my real madness…here are all the pages from my “Coffee Table” graphic novel ANOMALY.  Have about 20-30 pages to do then all done (that will bring it to about 220 total story pages).

BTW…these are not in order and the thin ones are double page spreads…the book is landscape.  You can see full size prints at my artist alley table.

Philip Tan channels Moebius

Philip Tan channels Moebius

Hi all.  Philip did these pages a while ago…many years ago.  When the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund came knocking this looked like the perfect place to use them. They are part of a 3 page story that will appear in a CBLDF fund raiser book that will come out from Image later this year… and in my opinion some of Phil’s prettiest work, too bad the style takes too long to do.

Here is one to wet your appetites.

Arizona Comic Con 5.31.10

Arizona Comic Con 5.31.10

Hi all. Just got back from the Arizona Comic Con…and boy was it a great show.  The biggest mix of a crowd in terms of age and sex that I have ever seen.  And would you believe that about 1 in 5 folks were in costume? It was very cool and fun and the folks who put it on did a great job.  I highly recommend this show.

I’m going to try and put up stuff almost every day here….starting today…this is a page from my sketchbook.

Also working on new tutorials….hope to have several done by end of next month.

Best,

Brian
